Parents

I wish we’d found HeroPath before we wasted $45,000 on a year of college.

— Don't let this happen to you! —

What kind of life do you want for your child?

Portrait of handsome teenage boy thinkingAs a parent, your strongest desire is to see your child succeed in the world. The path to that success has always been clear: get good grades, go to college, get a job, work hard, and retire.

But that has changed in recent years. The media feeds us a steady diet of grim news: College admissions are a high-stakes game. A prestigious degree won’t guarantee you a job. If you’re not at the top of your game 100% of the time, you’re going to fail.

We’ve gone from living in a world full of possibility to a world driven by fear, desperation, and the belief that there’s just not enough for everyone. In this world, success means getting elite grades, going to an elite college, and clawing your way into the top 1% of everything.

It’s time for parents to take a stand against this punishing definition of success.

It’s time to take a stand for sanity, balance, and wellbeing.

It’s time to focus on what actually works: learning how to succeed in life despite the obstacles you face — or even because of them

At HeroPath we have a radically different way of thinking about life:

We believe that a joyful, fulfilling life is one that’s tailor-made, and self-directed, built on your child’s personality, interests, and talents. One that allows your child to make a difference and make a real contribution to the world.

Why HeroPath Works

Kids today are living under an enormous amount of pressure. They’ve learned to conform and perform to stay at the top of their game. But as successful as they are in playing the high school or college game, they’re often stressed out, scared, and anxious when they think about what comes next.
We live in a culture of scarcity. One that says there aren’t enough jobs. Not enough opportunities. That if you don’t follow a narrowly defined path to success, you’ll end up in a minimum-wage job, in a dead end life.

We blow the doors off those lies and tell participants what we know to be true: an extraordinary life is within their reach, right now. We help them see past the fear and tap into a sense of excitement, adventure, and possibility.

One of the most frustrating parts of parenting is having a life’s worth of wisdom and experience to share and a teen that want’s nothing to do with it. That’s where HeroPath coaches come in. They’ve been immersed in the world of teens and young adults for decades, and understand their daily challenges and concerns. But at a time when many youth are rejecting the input from adults in their world, HeroPath Coaches are the exception. As trusted advisors, they create a safe environment and a trusting relationship filled with practical results-producing advice… the kind that allows dramatic growth and change to occur.
One of the most important things participants take away from The HeroPath workshop is a clear sense of who they are and what makes them tick. What are their real interests and talents? Are they introverts or extroverts? How much does WHERE they live and work matter to them? How much does WHO they  work with or HOW MANY people they work with matter? Will they  be overwhelmed in a major urban setting or would they grow restless in one that’s too quiet? Answering questions like these is the first step on the path to a uniquely satisfying life. We will help them do it.
If your child is struggling to decide where to go to college, what to major in, or what to do after graduation, Hero Path can help. We teach, coach, and guide kids through the process of evaluating their options with criteria that are based on who they are, not who they think the world wants them to be. As they work through the process, a clear direction emerges. This alone can be life-changing for young people who’ve felt overwhelmed by options.

They’ll be truly Launched Into Life

Facial expression. What makes HeroPath so different from other youth programs is that we’re not just about motivation… We’re not just some “feel-good-team-building-pseudo-leadership” peak experience weekend. What we do is intelligent, age-appropriate, thought provoking and relevant. Our HeroPath Coaches are interesting, accomplished, skilled and come from an eclectic array of backgrounds and careers.

Participants leave the workshop with the skills, strategies, and mindset that sets them on a deeply satisfying life course… Through the weekend and customized one-to-one Coaching, they learn things like:

  • How to communicate effectively
  • How to choose friends and relationships that support your growth
  • How to deal with setbacks and obstacles
  • How to turn mistakes into valuable learning opportunities
  • How to assess risks and make smart decisions
  • How to tune into your intuition
